Content Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
Eternalgram is a place of remembrance. Everything published here — every photograph, every tribute, every written line — should honor the person being remembered and the people who loved them.
1. Respect for the memorialized
Memorials are sacred space. Content should reflect the dignity of the person being remembered. Mourning takes many forms — humor, sorrow, gratitude, anger at illness or loss — all of these are welcome. What is not welcome is cruelty, mockery, or content that intentionally diminishes a life.
2. Harassment & hate speech
We do not permit content that harasses, threatens, doxes, or targets any individual or group. We do not permit hate speech against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or veteran status. This applies to memorial biographies, photo captions, and tributes alike.
3. Graphic & disturbing content
Do not upload photographs or video of human remains in a graphic state, images of the moment of death, or content depicting violence, abuse, or self-harm in a disturbing way. Documentary funeral imagery presented respectfully is permitted; shock imagery is not.
4. Misinformation
Biographies should be truthful. Do not knowingly publish false claims about the deceased, their family, their cause of death, or the circumstances of their life. Disputes about factual accuracy can be raised through our contact form.
5. Unauthorized memorials
A memorial should be created by someone with a genuine connection to the deceased — a family member, close friend, partner, colleague, or community member acting with the family's knowledge. Memorials created without the family's awareness may be removed at the family's request through our Memorial Removal Policy.
6. Copyright & permissions
Only upload media you own or have explicit permission to share. This includes professional funeral photography, portrait photography, third-party video footage, and copyrighted music. If you believe content on Eternalgram infringes your copyright, file a takedown notice through our Removal Policy with identification of the work, the infringing URL, and a statement of good-faith belief.
7. AI-generated content
We strongly recommend disclosing when a portrait, voice clip, video reconstruction, or written tribute has been generated or significantly edited by artificial intelligence. AI recreations of the deceased's voice or likeness should be labeled and should never be presented as authentic footage. We may require disclosure or remove content that fails to identify itself.
8. Tribute & comment moderation
Memorial owners can moderate, hide, or remove any tribute posted to their memorial. Eternalgram may also moderate tributes that violate this Content Policy. Anonymous tributes are permitted but held to the same standards as signed ones.
9. Our moderation rights
We may review reports, remove violating content, restrict accounts, and take other reasonable action to keep Eternalgram a respectful place. Where appropriate we will contact the memorial owner before removing content and offer a chance to revise.
10. Reporting a problem
Anyone — visitor, family member, copyright holder — can report content that violates this policy by using our contact form and selecting “Report content” or “Report memorial.” We review every report.
